Vulpes Investment Management is delighted to announce that, after working on a consultancy basis since our launch in March, Grant Williams has accepted a permanent role as portfolio advisor.
Grant will initially be principally focused on the Vulpes Testudo Fund. The Testudo Fund, launched in March 2008, is an unconstrained, long-term endowment-style fund that seeks to generate steady but safe real net returns after inflation. It holds a blend of listed and private equities, commodities and debt instruments selected purely on their own merits.
Grant joins Vulpes after 26 years in finance, 13 of which have been spent in the Asia Pacific region. During his career he has worked for a number of investment houses including Robert Fleming, UBS and Credit Suisse.
Grant has been writing an investor blog called ‘Things That Make You Go Hmmm….” since 2009 and it now has over 2,000 registered subscribers. We’ve asked him to keep publishing this and you can access it via the Vulpes website if you wish. In addition Grant will be posting occasional pieces reflecting his and our views on markets- they won’t always be the same of course and his opinions are his own; but we couldn’t be in more agreement with his inaugural piece highlighting the folly of fleeing to the ‘safe haven’ of western government bond markets during this growth scare. Increasingly the ‘leaders’ in the West look out of ideas, out of options and out of road down which to kick the can.
Best regards
Steve Diggle

The month of August, still only 16 days old, has already resembled something of a Theatre of the Absurd.
It opened with the farcical debate about the raising of the US debt ceiling – an act that was never in question for many reasons... |
